By default, every entity has a standard set of system Views in an account. These are the Views listed at the top of the View drop down list.
Any Custom Views created will appear at the bottom of the list under the heading of 'Custom Views'. This heading will not appear until you create your first Custom View.
These system Views can be viewed by everyone initially. Their criteria has already been predefined by the system and is reflected in the View name.
The criteria for these Views cannot be altered but the columns displayed in the View can be adjusted. The View can also be restricted by assigning them to a specific Security Group.
If a User is not part of the Security Group then the View will not appear in the drop down list when they use it.
If you do make adjustments to a View (add / remove columns) then this will appear for every User that has access to this View so please ensure that any adjustments you make are required by all Users.

Please note that the 'All Contracts' View cannot be restricted - everyone should have access to this view.
Contract Classification Views
The Contract Classification field values in an account directly creates system Views. Every account by default has a Classification field with values of 'Customer' and 'Supplier'.
This means that there will be two system Views that correlate.
You can adjust the values in the Contract Classification drop down via its Value set, you can add, remove or adjust these values as your organisation requires.
Any adjustments made will be reflected in its corresponding system view, if you have change the value name, then the view name will update, if you add a new value then a corresponding view will display, if you remove a value then the view will be removed.

If you are not using the Contract Classification field on your form then the Views will still be listed in the drop down. If you access these Views then no records will be displayed unless a record does hold a value in this field.
For example, you could have previously used the field on your Contract form and selected a value against a Contract record.
Subsequently you may have decided to take the field off the Contract form. Even though the field is no longer displayed on the form, the value on that record is still there. In this instance the record will appear in the corresponding View for the value.
Note: 'Active' refers to any Contract with a status other than 'Expired' or 'Closed'
